Five houseboats were gutted in an early morning  fire incident on Saturday in Dal lake here, officials said.

An official said that a massive blaze broke out near Ghat No. 10 of the lake and engulfed five houseboats and an equal number of  residential structures.”The Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) officials rushed  to the spot  and doused off the flames immediately,” he said, adding that the reason of the fire is not known yet.
