Amid right wing-groups calling boycott to ‘Halal meat’, BJP national secretary general and member of Legislative Assembly, C.T. Ravi, calls halal food ‘economic jihad’.
This boycott call has been given ahead of Ugadi festival which is to be celebrated on Friday, 1 April 2022, where ‘Hosathodaku’, a non-veg meal, is offered a day after.
Moreover, some temple authorities in Karnataka have banned Muslims vendors around temples during the festivity. This downturn comes after the controversial Hijab ban row.
Notably, Assembly elections are to held in Karnataka in 2023.
