Many petrol and diesel stations across Kashmir are experiencing a fuel shortage after oil companies abruptly reduced the quotas being supplied to outlets in the region. Fuel refilling stations have rejected these reports and assured that there is no need to panic.
Iftikaar Pandith , owner of Sopore based fuel station, Hassan Motors, claimed to have enough fuel stock and stated that companies do not accept credit and they are unable to do RTGS (Payment system that allows instant tranfer of funds) as J&K Bank has been malfunctioning from few days.
Meanwhile, oil companies including Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) took to twitter and denied reports of a fuel shortage and urged people not to panic.
