Jammu and Kashmir authorities have issued an advisory regarding the outbreak of Monkeypox virus directing the concerned health officials to isolate suspected cases immediately.
The disease has been reported in UK, USA, Europe, Australia and Canada. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India has also issued interim Health Advisory regarding the disease on 20 May this year.
It is a viral disease which can be transmitted from animals to humans and humans to humans. The advisory of monkey pox resembles that of small pox.
