Srinagar, Jan 31: In the first Mann Ki Baat program of 2022, PM Modi announced an Open Synthetic Track and Astro-Turf Football Stadium for Ladakh.
With the capacity of 30,000 spectators, the stadium is to be built at a height of more than 10,000 feet.
The planned stadium will be FIFA certified with a eight lane synthetic track and one thousand bed hostel facility.
The Prime Minister said such infrastructure will bring great opportunities in the field of sports, tourism and employment.
Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur hailed the Prime Minister’s initiative of building the stadium in Ladakh. In a tweet the Minister called the move a revolution in field of sports.
