Srinagar, Jan 18: On Tuesday, Army rescued at least 14 civilians stuck after the twin avalanches hit Tangdhar-Chowkibal highway in Kupwara district of Jammu & Kashmir.
As per an official statement, snow avalanches blocked the Tangdhar-Chowkibal road on Tuesday morning, leaving 14 civilians stranded including a child.
Army’s avalanche rescue team from Neelam Company along with GREF immediately rushed to aid after receiving information about stranded vehicles carrying people from all age groups.
Among those rescued, were critically ill-heart patients and women.
Civilians expressed gratitude to Army for the timely help.
