SIU Sgr Presents Chargesheet Against 5 OGWs

State Investigation Unit (SIU-II) on Thursday presented a chargesheet against five militant associates before the Special designated NIA Court Srinagar.

 

As per a statement, a police spokesman said that the SIU-II Srinagar presented chargesheet before the Special designated NIA Court Srinagar in a case under FIR number 41/2022 of Police Station Shalteng against five militant associates.

 

Today, SIU-II Srinagar produced chargesheet of case FIR number 41/2022 under section 7/25 A.Act, 13, 18, 23, 39, UA(P) Act of Police Station Shalteng before  Special designated NIA Court Srinagar, the statement said, adding that the case pertains to the recovery of huge cache of arms & ammunition by Srinagar Police, 2RR & 44bn CRPF at a checkpoint established at Tri-junction Narbal national highway on 20/11/2022 from the possession of three militant associates.

 

They were identified as Rouf Safeer Dar son of Abdul Rashid Dar resident of Khanday Mohallah Pattan, Javiad Ahmed Khanday son of Gh Hassan Khanday resident of Khanday Mohallah Pattan and Mohd Iqbal Dhobee son of Manzoor Ahmed Dhobee resident of Aram Mohallah Pattan, police said, adding that they were transporting the arms & ammunition in a TATA vehicle bearing registration number JK15/2207 from Srinagar to Pattan on the instance of one militant @ Hamza linked with LeT.

 

The said vehicle as proceeds of militancy and on prior approval was attached for further proceedings, police said, adding that the case was further investigated which resulted to nomination of other two militant associates namely Shakir Ahmed Zargar son of Nisar Ahmed Zargar resident of Khanday Mohallah Pattan, Waris Ramzan Gojre son of Mohd Ramzan Gojre resident of Malpora Pattan and militant @ Hamza.

 

The investigation of the case has been closed against said five militant associates under section 173 CrPC and chargesheet was produced before NIA Court Srinagar today, police said, adding that the investigation of the case will remain continue under section 173(8) CrPC in order to effect the arrest of other involved persons and determination of details after obtaining expert opinions.
