In a bid to streamline academic breaks, the government has mandated winter vacations for Government Degree Colleges (GDCs) across Jammu and Kashmir Divisions.
As per government order, Starting December 27, 2023, all government degree colleges in Kashmir Division will enjoy an extended winter break until February 14, 2024.
Simultaneously, GDCs falling under the winter zone in Jammu Division will observe a parallel break, ensuring a synchronised approach to the winter recess.
For GDCs in the summer zone of Jammu Division, the winter break will be more concise, from January 1, 2024, to January 10, 2024.
