A day ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, the residents Batwara, Sonwar, Indra Nagar, Shivpora, and other adjacent areas have been pushed to the wall as the electricity supply has not been provided to them since 4 PM on Wednesday.

Residents of Batwara, Sonwar, Indra Nagar, Shivpora, and other areas expressed their concerns as Eid is being celebrated tomorrow across Jammu & Kashmir.

They mentioned that the electricity in their area has started playing hide and seek, as it suddenly went missing around 4 in the afternoon.

“We have bakery items, food, and other perishable goods in our refrigerators, and they will get spoiled without electricity. Please tell us what we should do,” said a local resident.

“This is the peak time for my business, and without electricity, I can do nothing. I am being forced to work under candlelight, and my work has suffered a lot. I feel helpless now,” said a barber from the area.

Meanwhile, when contacted, Chief Engineer KPDCL Javed Yousf Dar said that a faulty electric pole near Sonwar receiving station was the cause behind the issue and that they were working on repairing it.

Meanwhile, the CE assured that the supply will be restored within some time.
