A man died after being attacked with an axe in Gandoh tehsil area of Jammu and kashmir’s Doda district on Friday late evening.

 

A police officer official said that the incident occured at Gandoh village in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

 

He said that one Bharov Singh son of  Pawan Kumar resident of Chouanry Gandoh attacked Ram Krishan son of Nand Lal resident of village Dhosa Gandoh with an  axe and committed his murdered on spot.

 

In this incident one lady namely Anju Devi wife of Chander Parkash resident of Chouanry Gandoh was also injured and was referred to Doda for treatment.

 

He said that Immediately after the receipt of the information Adil Hussain, SDPO Gandoh and Inspr Vikram Singh, SHO PS  Gandoh alongwith a Police Party rushed to the spot and after hectic efforts and tactfully arrested the accused person from high ridges of forest area. The accused person while being arrested got himself injured with the weapon of offence(axe).

 

An FIR No 55/2023  under sec 302,307 ,342  has been registered in Police station Gandoh and investigation set into motion.

 

Prima facie the incident seems to have happened on some old family disputes  and grudges between two groups. Intitally there were some heated arguments on the dispute of stones extraction which later led to the incident of murdurious attack.

 

However investigation of the case is going on and the evidence is being gathered by Police during investigation the officer added.
