A 67-year-old retired doctor, his younger brother were among the four persons who lost their lives while another got injured after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident at Raggi Nallah in Doda district.

 

The vehicle, as per police, skidded off the road and rolled down into a 300-feet gorge on the banks of river Chenab at Raggi Nallah on Batote-Kishtwar highway.

 

Police, Ababeel & Al-Khair volunteers and locals immediately rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation.

 

Four people died in this accident, whose bodies have been retrieved while the injured man has been taken to the hospital for treatment, officials said.

 

The deceased have been identified as Parshad (60) son of Amar Nath his brother Ved Prakash (67), Roda Devi (52) wife of Om Prasad residents of Gajoth Bhalla and Raj Kumari (56) wife of Ram Rattan resident of Bharasu.
