JK Health Department has established a control room at divisional level and clinic for G-20 summit in Kashmir.
Health officials said that the department has made comprehensive healthcare arrangements and hospitals along the 47 kilometre Srinagar-Gulmarg highway have been upgraded.
Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mir Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, who is also the Nodal Officer for Health for G20 Summit meet in Kashmir told KNO that all necessary equipment and machinery have been installed to meet any kind of eventuality.
“A team of doctors has been constituted to ensure 24×7 health care facilities, availability of drugs, ambulances and other facilities,”he said.
He said that Sub District Hospital Magam, SDH Tangmarg and Primary Health Centre, Gulmarg have been upgraded and latest equipment and machinery has been installed there to ensure better healthcare facilities to the delegates.
“The 24/7 control room has been set up by the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir at Chief Medical Office Srinagar, Old Secretariat. Control room will monitor all the health care related activities and arrangements of the G20 events across the valley,” he said.
Dr. Mir Mushtaq, Spokesperson DHSK Kashmir said that special clinics have been established at the important spots and doctors have been trained in basic life support.
“We will make sure to provide the best possible healthcare facilities in place for the visiting dignitaries. We are aiming to provide world-class medical care that meets the highest international standards,” Dr Mir said.
He said that an emergency medical service (EMS) mock drill was already held to take stock of the health preparedness at designated venues in the wake of G20 Summit events in Kashmir.
Dr. Mushtaq said that the Nodal Officers and deputed staff including senior doctors will now submit recommendations to the health department.
