A 20-year-old laborer died while working on Zojila tunnel in Ganderbal district on Wednesday.
An official told Kashmir Scroll that labour identified as Haroon Ahmad Bhat son of Ab Hamid Bhat, a resident of Basan of Ramban district complained of chest pain inside Zojila Tunnel located in Baltal and subsequently he was shifted to PHC Sonamarg for treatment.
He said that Bhat who was working with Mega Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) was declared dead on arrival at PHC Sonamarg.
He said that apparent cause of death seems heart attack and further proceedings in this regard have been taken up.
The body of the deceased will be handed over to his family members for last rites after the completion of medico-legal formalities, he said.
