Authorities in south Kashmir’s Pulwama on Saturday demolished a house of a militant stating that the structure was built on government land.
The house of the militant Ashiq Nengroo of Hanjan Bala Rajpora Pulwama, who according to officials, is presently in Pakistan, was bulldozed today after the Revenue Department claimed that the two-storey house was built on the government land. Nengroo alias Ashaq Moulvi was a truck driver and he crossed the Line of Control in 2019, officials said.
Earlier on September 5, the bullet-riddled body of a man was found in an orchard in Shopian district. The deceased was later identified as Manzoor Ahmad Nengroo, brother of militant Ashiq Nengroo. Police had claimed that the deceased became a “victim of group rivalry among militants.”
Naib Tehsildar Rajpora Pulwama said that the two-storey house was demolished as it was built on government land.
