The body of a Poonch man, who was missing from last five days, has been recovered in a river in Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) and has been handed over on Line of Control on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Zafar Iqbal, son of Mushtaq Ahmed of Kalai, who went missing on Monday after getting trapped in flashflood in Surankote river of Poonch.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the search of missing man was going on from the last five days but could not be traced.

On Friday, Pakistani authorities informed about the recovery of a man’s body in its area, who was later identified to be the man missing from Poonch.

Meanwhile, on Saturday afternoon, Pakistani authorities handed over the body to Indian team on Chakan da Bagh LoC crossing point which was then taken to his native village in Kalai for last rites.

Police further said to have started legal formalities into the matter.
