Armed forces personnel on Friday claimed to have killed a militant along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara, while an armed forces personnel was also killed during the firing, officials sources said.
Official sources said that armed forces personnel noticed some suspicious movement along the LoC and challenged the militants.
They said that militants attempted to come to this side of the border in Tangdhar and subsequently were challenged by Indian armed forces personnel
deployed along the LoC.
They added that militants opened fire resulting in the killing of a militant and an armed forces personnel, while a search operation was going on in the area.
The armed forces personnel of 6-JAK Rifle identified as Jasvir Singh had received a bullet wound during the exchange of fire. He was shifted to the hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.
