The UAE Ministry of Economy has imposed a four-month ban on the export and re-export of wheat and wheat flour originating from India.
The ban applies on all wheat varieties namely hard, ordinary, and soft wheat. However, the wheat brought into UAE from India before May 13 can be exported.
The supply of wheat was disrupted after Ukraine-Russia conflict. Ukraine is one of the world’s systemically important wheat exporters as is India.
