A 32-year-old woman was found dead allegedly under suspicious circumstances at her in-laws’ house on Monday morning in Kakroosa area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The victim’s family went to her in-laws’ house shortly after knowing of her death. While alleging a murder the family claimed that the victim’s death was suspicious. They have been protesting since morning in Pachkote Tarathpora, the victim’s native village, demanding an investigation into the victim’s ‘sudden’ death.
Dr. Nissar Ahmad, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Handwara, stated that a post-mortem examination was performed on the body. He, however, declined to comment further on the situation.
