Video footage and pictures from the Court-ordered survey of Gyanvapi mosque complex was leaked on Monday, 31 May, on social media and some TV channels just after they were made available to the parties involved in the case.
Earlier on Monday, an application was filed by five Hindu women petitioners demanding the findings of the survey to be shared with the parties to dispute.
The court had clarified that no pictures or footage shared with the parties was to be made public or put to any unauthorised use without the permission of the court.
The findings were shared in sealed compact discs (CDs) to four of the five women with written undertakings stating that they would not misuse or leak the findings.
Abhaynath Yadav, the lawyer representing the mosque committee, alleged that one of the petitioners leaked the findings, calling it a “conspiracy” and an effort to “confuse the public.”
