A female teacher from Samba was shot dead by suspected militants at Gopalpora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam on Tuesday morning, Police said.
An official said that militants fired upon the teacher at High School Gopalpora Kulgam, severely injuring her. She was immediately shifted to district hospital Kulgam where doctors declared her dead.
She has been identified as Rajni, wife of Raj Kumaar of district Samba.
The official added that the area has been cordoned off to apprehend the attackers.
