An advocate of the Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee of the Gyanvapi Mosque said that the claim about ‘Shivling’ is fallacious.
The structure that petitioners are claiming to be a “Shivling” is actually a “fountain in wazookhana”, added the advocate.
Earlier, Varanasi Court has ordered to seal that area of the mosque immediately.
The court order came when an advocate filed a petition that there was some ‘concrete evidence that needed to be protected’. The court had also ordered a videographic survey of the area inside the mosque in Varanasi.
