Yesterday, on Sunday, a civilian was killed in ‘cross firing’ identified as Shoaib Ahmad Ganai, aged 22, resident of Turkwangam, district Shopian. This is the second civilian killing in past six days, meanwhile magisterial enquiry has been ordered.
Police has stated he was shot in a cross firing incident, though eye witnesses say ‘forces were looking for someone, Ganai who is a shopkeeper raised both his arms but was shot at the spot.’
Pertinently, six days ago on Tuesday, a 19-year-old boy was shot dead during an anti-militancy operation in Shopian. No probe was ordered to check who shot the civilian.
Meanwhile, series of protest by Kashmiri Pandits are going on in Jammu and Kashmir against the killing of Rahul Bhat. Moreover, probe has been ordered by LG, Manoj Sinha, to punish cops involved in Lathi Charge on protesters.
