The J&K State Investigation Agency (SIA) carried out searches at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday morning, sources said.
Sources revealed that the sleuths of the investigating agency with the assistance of the police carried out raids in at least nine locations in the UT including the Srinagar city.
In Srinagar, the agency raided the house of Shareef-din Shah Son of Syed Gani Shah, resident of Larnoo Kokernag.
Similarly, raids are being conducted in Jammu parts as well.
The raids are in connection with the Babu Singh Hawala case, sources said. Police said more than 6 lakh rupees were recovered from the accused.
Babu Singh was a minister in the PDP-Congress government in 2002. He was absconding arrest in the related case.
The former Minister from Kathua strongly resented abrogation of Article 370 and splitting of JK state into two Union Territories and has been demanding restoration of JK’s special status.
