KU Professor Among 3 Dismissed For 'Alleged' Militant Links

A professor of Kashmir University, a police constable and a teacher has been dismissed from their service for alleged “militancy links and secessionist activities”.

The move came into action when Jammu and Kashmir administration invoked Article 311 of the Constitution of India on Friday.

Altaf Hussain Pandit, professor of Chemistry, Mohd Maqbool Hajam, teacher in the school education department and Ghulam Rasool, Jammu Kashmir Police Constable have been sacked by administration for “actively supporting militancy.”

The administration has put in investigation to detect and mitigate “militancy” elements within the system who somehow managed to “sneak in within the system” in previous regimes, the official sources said.
