As the night temperature recorded an increase on Sunday, MeT forecast mainly dry weather over Jammu and Kashmir.
A meteorological department official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 12.8°C against 9.8°C on the previous night which was 2.1°C above normal during this time of the year for the summer capital.
The weatherman has already predicted mainly “hot and dry weather” at least till May 12 where isolated light rain may occur too. There’s no forecast of any major rain spell for next one week.
Meanwhile, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Bengal are bracing to bear the brunt as a cyclonic storm- which developed overnight over the Bay of Bengal- is set to intensify in the next 24 hours.
Heavy rain and strong winds have been predicted this week in the three states as Cyclonic Asani makes its way.
