A 28-year-old woman, mother of two, was allegedly beaten by her husband and in-laws in Kreeri village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla and is fighting for her life in a Srinagar hospital.
Family members of the victim said she was beaten by her husband and in-laws on Eid, resulting in serious injuries and is fighting for life in the ICU at SKIMS Soura.
She is being treated at the hospital as she has suffered deep wounds on her head and other parts of her body.
The incident triggered massive protests, calling for strict action to be taken against the accused.
Meanwhile, a police official said a case had been registered under the relevant sections of the law. Victim’s husband has been arrested and further investigations into the matter is underway.
