An armed forces personnel was detained at the Srinagar International Airport on Monday when airport security discovered a hand grenade in his luggage.
According to official sources, one HE (high explosive) hand grenade was discovered in the luggage of army personnel departing on leave at the Srinagar International Airport’s drop gate and was promptly apprehended for questioning.
The army personnel has been identified as Balaji Sompath of the 42 RR and has been handed over to police post Humhama for further inquiry, the official said.
