Authorities on Wednesday decided not to allow Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat-ul-Vida prayers at the historic Jamia Masjid, informed Anjuman Aukaf, Jamia Masjid Srinagar.
A team of police and government officials headed by District Magistrate visited the Masjid premises last evening post Iftar and apprised the Aukaf board. The Aukaf in a statement ‘strongly denounced the action’.
Pertinently, the renowned mosque has remained mostly shut for Friday prayers since the abrogation of article 370 in August 2019.
